There are many kinds of refractory bricks, and there are countless specifications and models.
Common clay refractory bricks have good thermal shock resistance and are used for lining of general kilns. The operating temperature is about 1250 °C. If it is low gas clay brick, it can be used for the lining of glass furnace and some special furnaces. The service temperature is above 1350 ℃. If andalusite or cordierite is added to clay refractory bricks, the service temperature should be above 1400 ℃.
If it is a series of light clay refractory bricks, the temperature used in the insulation area is in the range of 1000-1200 ℃.
High alumina refractory bricks are used in the high temperature zone of furnace lining, and the service area is in the range of 1300-1400 ℃. If the temperature exceeds 1400 °C, anti peeling high alumina refractory bricks or corundum bricks shall be used. The high alumina refractory brick used in the burner shall be mullite refractory brick or corundum mullite refractory brick, and the service temperature shall be 1300~1600 ℃. That is, high temperature resistance, wear resistance, fatigue resistance and flexibility are also very good.
If andalusite or cordierite is added to the high alumina brick, the temperature of this special refractory brick is between 1350-1500 ℃. If it is light high alumina refractory brick, it is used in the field of thermal insulation. It has the function of heat preservation, and the service temperature is between 1200-1350 ℃. It can only be used for insulation, not for working layer.
The insulating layer is made of mullite polymer light refractory bricks, and the service temperature is between 1400-1500 ℃.
If it is alumina hollow ball refractory brick, it can be used as insulation area or directly as working layer. The service temperature is 1600-1700 ℃.
In case of alkali resistant refractory bricks, the general service temperature of alkali resistant bricks is below 1200 ℃. If it is magnesia alkali brick, the service temperature is between 1500-1650 ℃.
The service temperature of corundum refractory brick is higher, above 1700 ℃. And the strength is very high. Corundum refractory brick, followed by silicon carbide refractory brick, not only has high temperature resistance, good strength, but also has excellent wear resistance.
In short, no matter how high the temperature is, choosing the appropriate refractory brick will save costs and meet the use.
