High alumina aggregate is a raw material that refractory brick production enterprises crush alumina into different granular shapes.
High alumina aggregate has a large particle size and can be broken into different particles according to different uses. When producing high alumina bricks, the aggregate particles are 0-4mm. If different high alumina castables are used, the aggregate particles are between 0-10mm. If the particle size of the ladle pouring material is 20-25mm, the method of making the material varies, and the particle size of the high aluminum aggregate also varies.
The amount of high alumina aggregate used in the production of high alumina refractory bricks and high alumina series injection materials accounts for approximately 70%. Aggregates serve as a framework and can affect aluminum content, strength, and fire resistance.
Each type of high aluminum series product is filled with particle graded coarse and fine aggregates, and the gaps between the coarse and fine aggregates are filled with powder and binder to reduce air voids and achieve bulk density, thereby achieving good performance in the production of high aluminum series products.
High alumina aggregates with a size greater than 5mm are called coarse aggregates, while those below 5mm are called fine aggregates. Generally, when making high alumina refractory bricks, the aggregate will not exceed 5mm, and when making high alumina series castables, the aggregate will be between 0-12mm. If it is a filling material, the large particles will not exceed 8mm, and normally 6-8mm will be used. In general, the principle of using ingredients is to have large ends and fewer particles in the middle.
This reduces porosity and increases wear resistance.
In the high aluminum series of castables, the particle classification of high aluminum aggregates will be higher because high aluminum castables require the addition of powders, binders, etc. The particle ratio method of high alumina aggregate is also adopted, with fewer particles in the middle and more particles at both ends. However, the particle size of high alumina castables is larger than that of high alumina bricks. The particle size of high alumina bricks is 0-4mm, and the particle size of high alumina castable is 0-12mm.
The size of high alumina aggregate particles is determined by different situations, but the role of high alumina aggregate is to serve as the skeleton of the product.
